Rome has a unique history when it comes to churches, and it offers visitors an incredible variety of history, as well as architecture and art to admire. In them, you'll find incredible mosaic art and fresco paintings, as well as works by some of the greatest masters – Michelangelo, Raphael, Bernini, and Caravaggio – just to name a few. The Basilica of St. John Lateran, Santa Maria del Popolo, Santa Maria in Aracoeli, Santa Maria in Trastevere, Santa Maria sopra Minerva… the list goes on and on. With over 900 churches, you definitely never run the risk of getting bored!

The Jewish Quarter
Rome is the oldest settlement of the Jewish people outside of Israel and traces of this are all over the ancient Roman monuments around this area: the Theatre of Marcellus, the Portico of Octavia, the Temple of Apollo – all mixed with the vivacious, and atmospheric area where a lot of Jewish people still like to live and feel connected to their heritage. To walk through it means to walk through Jewish history, culture, see Hebrew signs, schools, bakeries, and shops. The Jewish cuisine here, so interwoven with Roman cuisine, shines. There are endless excellent places to eat!
